Site Number 27 is a walk in primitive site with out water or electric. The site enjoys a prime location within Nolin State Park Campground. Tucked away in a peaceful corner of the campground on the shore of the lake and surrounded by trees, it offers an ideal blend of privacy and convenience. It’s close enough to the park’s amenities, yet secluded enough to provide a sense of serenity and a genuine connection with nature.
Finding the campsite
Finding the site can be difficult but there are signs pointing to it. Once you enter the main campground follow the road past the bathhouse and take the third right into the large parking lot. The trail to the campsite is off to the left of the parking lot. After crossing about 35 yards of grass to the tree line, access to the site is via a narrow trail approximately 20 yards long. The distances are approximate and are from memory. I have not measured the distance.
The Space and Layout

If you want to swim, the beach for the campground is just a short walk down the well defined road and path leading off to the left as you leave the campsite. Hiking enthusiasts will appreciate the nearby trails that meander through the campground, along with several other improved trails (including a waterfall trail) available from the trailhead at the boat ramp. The improved trails are of various difficulty but offer breathtaking views and the chance to spot local wildlife.
