Cleaning an RV awning with House Wash vs Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Roller Mop. Do they work? Which one is better? Let’s find out.
Are you searching for effective ways to clean your RV awning? Well, you’re not alone. We’ve been on the hunt for innovative cleaning methods for our 5-year-old RV awning, previously relying on commercial RV awning cleaners and good old elbow grease. However, despite the effort, the results weren’t as good as we had hoped.
During our research, we stumbled upon a multitude of recommendations. Among the most popular suggestions were using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Roller Mop, or another method using a basic housewash made from a simple mix of water, detergent, and bleach. Some folks even recommended combining the two methods. It’s fair to say we were initially quite confused.
We decided to put these recommendations to the test on our grimy awning, which was due for its annual scrub. It was covered in a season’s worth of dirt, grime, bugs, and mildew – you know the how they get.
We divided the awning into two halves. One half was cleaned using a commercial house wash known as Mold Armor E-Z House Wash, while we used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser Roller Mop on the other half, along with a gallon of water mixed with a bit of Dawn dishwashing detergent.
Our comparison focused on the duration of the cleaning process, the ease of use for each method, and most importantly, their effectiveness. We were pleasantly surprised with the results.
